China Dragon is a local Spokane, Washington restaurant that’s been open since 1987. They needed photography that would entice customers, and stand out from other Chinese food photography.

Food Photography
Although they originally wanted the food to be on white plates, we determined that a dark and moody aesthetic would represent their food well. This highlights the food in a dynamic and visually appealing manner. This photo-shoot was important for the rest of their marketing materials to be successful.
Special Techniques
We used a very specific lighting technique that we researched and practiced before the shoot. The top-down shots were chosen for two reasons: one, you don’t normally see this style with Chinese food photography, and two, this allowed us to create a cohesive theme for the whole photo-shoot.
